Seaway Academy Continues to Provide STCW / IMO Training to the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry Durin

Seaway Academy continues to provide STCW / IMO training to the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, although not at our Training Center in Bangkok, Thailand. It is being provided from our Head Office in Phuket, Thailand.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the associated travel restrictions, Seaway Academy was forced to make adjustments to our Training process.

We did this by obtaining approval from the Flag Administrations for our courses and began providing the training as Virtual Online Training and as Online (tutor assisted) Training.

Before the pandemic, Seaway Academy has several Maritime online training courses so the transition was not a difficult one. Two years ago, we also had one of our MOU Stability courses approved by the Flag Administrations to deliver online, therefore we already had the technology and the expertise. We knew that we could teach effectively across time, space, and distance.

Candidates from around the world took advantage of our STCW / IMO online courses in April and we have many more registered for courses in May and June. The reviews we received from students attending the Virtual Training, and the Online (tutor assisted) Training have been very positive and inspiring.

Our training philosophy: At Seaway Academy our goal is for the student to accomplish the highest learning experience possible. In order to achieve this, we deliver comprehensive, interesting and practical training that is relevant and closely related to the work environment.
